What’s the best diet for losing weight?
At the end of the day, in order to lose weight, you must be at a calorie deficit. This means the number of calories you’re taking in must be less than the number of calories you’re burning on a daily basis. I am not a fan of fad or restrictive diets. I believe in incorporating all three major food groups into a healthy and balanced diet: carbohydrates, lean protein, and healthy fats. It is important to understand that the best way to lose weight and MAINTAIN that weight loss is by slow change. In a world where people want immediate results, I know this isn’t the answer most of you want to hear. I recommend that my clients who want to lose weight stick to a 500-calorie daily deficit. Since a pound is made up of 3500 calories, this means a loss of 1lb/week.
