Metabolism Boosting Apple Pie Smoothie
| It may sound rather decadent, but this Metabolism Boosting Apple Pie Smoothie features homemade unsweetened applesauce (made from fiber-rich and metabolism-boosting whole apples) and is spiced with ground cinnamon. | |
INGREDIENTS
For the unsweetened applesauce:
- 1 cup chopped peeled apple
- 1 cup water
For the smoothie:
- 2 cups Greek plain yogurt
- ¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 cup apple juice, chilled
- 1 cup diced fresh apple, frozen
- 1 scoop About Time Cinnamon Swirl protein
- 1 T vanilla extract
- 3 to 4 ice cubes
- 1 t Stevia
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- For the unsweetened applesauce:
- Combine apple and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the water has evaporated. Mash with a fork. Let cool before using.
- For the smoothie:
- Combine the Greek yogurt, applesauce, protein, vanilla extract, ice cubes and apple juice in a blender. Add the apple, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Blend until smooth
