Natural Icings for Cut Out Cookies
These Natural Icings for Cut Out Cookies have no artificial colors or sweeteners and still make a beautiful presentation without any guilt
Cream Cheese icing: (white)
2 oz Greek cream cheese-softened
1/2 scoop About Time birthday cake whey protein isolate
1 T melted coconut oil
1/2 t pure vanilla extract
1 packet stevia (can use more if you want it sweeter)
Mix well
Cranberry icing: (red)
1/2 c fresh cranberries
cook in 2/3 c water with 1 t stevia. boil until soft and most water is gone
Mash cranberries well, (strain through cheesecloth to make a nicer icing)
add:
1 more packet stevia
1 dash cinnamon
1 t chia seeds
set mix well, set aside to cool
Spinach icing: (green)
1 handful fresh spinach, stems removed
2 T coconut oil
1/2 scoop About Time Birthday cake whey protein isolate
1 packet stevia
1/2 t vanilla
2-3 dashes cinnamon
place spinach in food processor, blend. add coconut oil, blend. Add protein and blend until smooth. Add stevia vanilla and cinnamon, mix well.
Sweet potato icing: (orange)
2 T sweet potato puree
1 T coconut oil
1/2 scoop About Time birthday cake whey protein isolate
1/2 t pure vanilla extract
2 dashes cinnamon
1 packet stevia
stir well
Almond Butter icing: (brown)
2 T almond butter- (i used p28 brand)
2 T coconut oil
1/2 scoop About Time chocolate whey protein isolate
2 T water
2 dashes each cinnamon and allspice
1/2 t pure vanilla extract
I then mixed some of these together to make additional colors;
red plus white- lavender pink color
orange plus white- golden yellow
golden yellow plus brown- a perfect light brown for the leaves
and so forth
I hope you enjoy how simple some of these can be and such a healthier version instead of fake colors and tons of sugars
