What can I do to get faster for my sport?

It is important to understand that strength is the foundation of speed. Following a regular strength program is important to getting faster. Once a good strength base is set, the next step is to build power. There are a variety of power exercises including cleans, jerks, high pulls, snatches, or even medicine ball throws that can help you to develop power. Many of these exercises are highly technique-oriented, so be sure to progress slowly and carefully with including these exercises into your routine. Finally, refine your technique with footwork and agility drills using cones and mini-hurdles.
