Tips for baking with protein
We have both been trying to increase our protein intake for the past few weeks. We try to eat mostly lean protein (chicken, turkey, fish), but we also supplement our diets with protein powder. I’ve had a few friends ask about baking with protein so I decided I would include some tips, as well as my favorite recipes for protein packed treats!
Baking with protein is not always easy.. Due to it’s nature, it can make baked goods dry, rubbery or just plain nasty! There have been plenty of muffins/ cookies/ cakes that have been tossed into the trash because they just didn’t taste the right way. If you’re stuck in the same boat, read on to find out some tips on how to bake with protein powder, and try out some of my recipes (I promise they’re delicious!)

Chocolate Protein Muffins – These muffins are easy to make, low in carbs and high in protein! They also taste like chocolate cake which is always a good thing ;)
Banana Protein Muffins – A little higher in carbs than the chocolate protein muffins, but also delicious! These are a good way to use up old bananas! I like to take these with peanut butter as a snack.
Chocolate Protein Pancakes – My favorite breakfast recipe…These pancakes are SO good you won’t even know they’re healthy! I top them with peanut butter and fresh fruit. Sometimes I will make extra and freeze them… Then I can just pop the in the microwave or toaster oven when I’m running late and need something quick for breakfast!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Oatmeal – This oatmeal is a great option for breakfast. It has around 20g of protein which will help to fuel you through a tough workout, or long morning!
