When it comes to exercise, most people tend to think weight loss and strength/muscle gains. We tend to forget all the other benefits of it or may not fully understand the effects it had on every single system in your body! Here is A Note From Your Fitness RN: The Lymphatic System and Exercise-A Holistic Approach to better health. The lymphatic system is a term some may have not even heard of or understand the influence is has on a healthy body. The lymphatic system is part of your circulatory system and is the first line of defense for disease prevention and a strong immune system.
•Absorbs as well as aids in the transports of fatty acids and fats from the digestive system
•Transporting antigen-presenting cells (antigens are foreign molecules that trigger the production of antibodies through the immune system when presented in the body)
•Transporting white cells to and from lymph nodes to bones
•Responsible for removal of excess fluid, toxins, and waste from tissues
Aids in the reduction of cellulite
Someone with a poor functioning lymphatic system may have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, bloating, poor digestion, chronic aches and pain, and stubborn fat deposits and cellulite.
When it comes to a more efficient lymphatic system EXERCISE IS CRITICAL. In order to get your lymphatic system moving, you need to get your blood flowing, and the toxins moving out. This system not only moves the bad out, but the good in! It helps supply cells with the proper amount of nutrients for recovery and growth. And this system is so effective, that even just 15 minutes of exercise can increase lymphatic flow by 15 to 30 times. So get moving!!!
Fitness is about optimal health, both inside and out.
