My name is Mark Clifford. I am 25 years old, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Engineering. During my time at Pitt, as well as throughout my pre-college life, I have always been extremely active. Growing up, I played ice hockey since I was 4 years old, and a combination of baseball and football since I was about 6. As my athletic career progressed, I encountered a group of hockey coaches when I was about 14 that changed my outlook on working out and health altogether. These individuals were successful hockey players themselves, having played in high level junior and college leagues, and they really instilled in me the concept of hard-work and how important it is to take care of one’s body as an athlete. Ever since this time, I have been pushing myself to be the best athlete that I can be, and I know just how important proper nutrition is in achieving that, especially after a college hockey career.
